Key frames that needed to feel alive.
In order to sell this concept to the client, we needed these storyboard key frames to feel as sweat-drenched and gritty as the athletes themselves. That's why I chose a style that emphasized hard shadows, dramatic angles and energy-pulsing action. In the end, the client loved the approach and immediately understood what we were going for, eventually leading to this powerful Olympic ad narrated by award-winning poet, Shane Koyczan.
